steam won't update

Anyone having this problem? It keeps trying to update but it says that steam is unavailable - has been like this for a week. Any idea why it suddenly won't work? Thanks!

I agree but I loves my CS - but now I have CoD so I guess I can live without it

I used to love CS. It was fine (a bit 'scruffy' but still good) before steam was released. I find it hard to connect to a server nowadays withjout some error or another, or a freeze. CoD on the other hand is a great game! Now I only play CoD and Wolf ET.

Huh.

After being away from CS for nearly a year, I decided: "What the hell. Let's try out this new-fangled 'Steam'".

Worked pretty much flawlessly for me. I was surprised, since it has been getting so much bad press.
