I have a new MSI Geforce 6600 GT video card, and I also tried an eVGA
6600 GT, both PCI-X cards. Both work great - but when monitoring the
temperature on both, I saw drastic differences. The eVGA card is
sitting at a GPU core temp of 46 C while the MSI card sits at 73 C.
Big diff, so I started to investigate. It turns out the MSI has a
very, very lose cooler, almost to the point where it probably isn't
even touching part of the GPU core. I already sold the eVGA card, and
I plan to keep the MSI card - but my question is, what do I do about
this? It's not like you can tighten the springs that hold it on. I
would like to replace it with a quieter cooler option anyhow - but
what's out there? I'd like something like the NV silencer series. Does
anyone know if they make these yet for 6600 GT PCI-X cards??
