Motorola Canopy Wireless Broadband

Hi! I am one of the unfortunate ones that still has slow dialup. The only way I will ever be able to get high speed internet is with an ISP who uses Motorola Canopy Wireless Broadband, which operates in the 2.4ghz range. I am very skeptical about because of the security issues. I see/hear all of the things you need to do with an internal network and it's inside the home. This thing is attached to the outside of the house. The ISP assures me that it is very secure/safe. I am not too sure about this. Before I do something I'm going to regret, does any one currently use this system or has anyone heard pros/cons about this? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
