iPAQ Backlight Uniformity

On my new iPAQ H1450, I have noticed that towards the bottom of the
screen the backlight slightly darkens resulting in a screen that is not
totally uniform in brightness. This is really only noticed on a mostly
white screen or in a page of Microsoft Reader for example. I'm wondering
if this is a common trait of iPAQs or whether it is just only a feature
of my unit. I'm just worried about a possibility of it getting worse
with usage.
