Hello All
Just thought I mention this in case one encounters it. I just spent more
than five hours working with three different Linksys techs on setting up a
Linksys wireless router with a friend's new Gateway 7320GZ laptop.
Turns out the problem was that Gateway had activated two different wireless
utilities on the system - the Windows one and one from Broadcom. (We didn't
see anything on this in the wireless manual, but a Linksys tech in the
Philippines finally figured it out). The result was that every time the
machine was put on standby or rebooted, a conflict between the two utilities
wiped out the wireless connection, apparently by changing the IP address.
(The Ethernet worked fine, but the wireless could be set up only using the
Linksys online setup utility and only UNTIL the laptop was rebooted).
After disabling the Broadcom utility, the machine now connects to the
wireless instantly on startup and stays connected even through standby. It's
something to check out if setting up on a 7320 and perhaps a 7326 and other
GW laptops.
