I have a Satellite A355 with Windows 7 installed. Just presciently my Chicony USB 2.0 WebCam (built-in) stopped working with skype. Checked drivers and all are working properly. The laptop has not been dropped/mishandled; the device suddenly quit

I have a Satellite A205 and am having the same issue. Upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 & the Chicony USB 2.0 stopped working. Have done all the basics, updated drivers, uninstalled from device manager, etc. Have serched the web without anything beyond updating drivers. Any one have any next best steps?

I had the same problem, after making sure the driver was up to date I went to toshiba's web site to re-install the web cam software, that finally fixed my issue with a a205-s7468.
This took about 4 hours to get resolved.
