Okay, here goes, hope I can explain my problem well enough. The software
for the wireless card I am using is being overridden by windows. As soon as
my software detects a connection, windows wireless activates and kills the
connection. On the Wireless network connection properties I have unticked
Use windows to configure my network settings. I have tried turning off
wireless support in the component services. Nothing works. How can I turn
off/stop windows interferring with the software that come with my wireless
card. I have tried just using windows to get a wireless connection but that
doesn't work either. The manual stresses the importance of using the
softwre that came with the wireless card to change settings and not to use
windows to change settings.
Here is a link to the card I have, if thats any help.

Prior to XP wireless support was not good. With XP wireless support is
native. I have also had a problem using non MS drivers under XP. Try using
the XP to configure the Wireless network. For sure you do not want to use
Win2000 drivers in XP. You configure the drivers in Device Manager (System
in Control Panel, then Hardware) you have to have both the device driver
and the network configuration working together. Try reloading a MS driver
from your XP cd. Also check hardware compatibility. MS has a list on their
web, do a search for hardware compatibility. Hope this helps.
