I haven't seen any announcement of a new chipset
since the 6800 was announced. it's been a year, so either i missed
it, or there has been no announcement since the 6800. Comments?

I've read recently that nvidia is going to a 1 year cycle rather than 6
months and is focusing on SLI instead.
Can't verify it yet. I only read it at one site.

if a 'one year cycle' is true, then we should see an announcement
by the end of Apr. 2005 regarding a chipset with significantly
better performance than the 6800 which features sli.
Anyhow, thanks for the info.

Well, a 6-month cycle obviously doesn't work when there's an 8-month gap
between when the chipset is "launched" and when the cards are available in
decent quantities...

nVidia is not alone in this; ATi is even worse with the advance hype, citing
"OEM priorities" as an excuse.
