SA Underworld in a copter

Just found an entrance to the underworld big enough to accommodate a copter
(well, Maverick-sized or smaller, at least).

It involves the building just across the street to the west of the north
part of the construction site where CJ's gas station is located in SF. On
the east and west sides of the building, there are overhangs. Carefully
fly under the top-most overhang until you hit the wall, then up, in, and
down. (You're going to bash a little.)

In VC, a copter was the only way to go. (Well, it was possible (but hard)
to fly a tank into the underworld. Maybe a dodo. Not sure.) In SA, the
jetpack's the thing. There are MANY jetpack entrances in LS, and I've
already found a few in SF as I explore. (Haven't checked LV yet.) But this
one in SF is the first one I've found big enough for a copter. Check it
out, if you're and Underworld fan.

Incidentally, as you drop in altitude, the elevation indicator drops right
off the bottom of the screen. (You can't fly that low, normally.) Shortly
thereafter, you reappear in the Upperworld, as usual.

Cool - do you know what route I can take from there to get to the
desert? I'm trying to get into the Area 69 secret underground complex.
Or, is there an easier 'blue hell' entrace to achieve this from?

Just follow the on-screen map.

Hmm. Can you access that from the Underworld?

Possibly. I haven't explored LV in detail yet.

And I recommend the jetpack instead of a copter. I just thought it was
interesting that a helicopter will fit through this entrance.

You give directions just the same way my wife does.

It keeps dumping me out onto the pavement or into a te hold of a ship
when I try to go under the seabed. I need to find a place where it's
shallow enough that I can get under it without going below minimum
height.

Oh. Hmm. You need to find an entrance in LV. I haven't explored that area
in detail yet.

Perhaps someone else has found one in LV?

The door to that pay'n'spray is always closed on the PC version.

I did the Underworld with the jetpack via unmarked pay-n-spray,
then went under Area 69, the jetpack in the silo is still visible.
Didn't see the mini-gun/armor spawn area, but alot of the complex is
visible. I've heard that the Hydra in the Verdant Meadows Hangar,
can trip a Blue Hell transporting CJ to this under the Area 69 area.
(Some hitting of the wings on a bike, etc.)
As expected, if you were able to break the surface inside the actual
complex through some 'brown walls', there is no way to get out.
I broke through by letting go of the jetpack, and I surfaced inside
the regular main area, surrounded by countryside type police.
No military. Still, just seeing the underground silo with the jetpack
in there was cool.

The weird place is in SF, under the dock by City Hall.
By the Bandito and Jetmax spawns. There's a no-man's
land area, that if CJ jettisons the jetpack, he's stuck in water,
and will take many tries to get out. Done that one a few times,
it's pretty strange.

I'll need to try that SF helicopter entrance to the Underworld,
nice find Cleve. :)

The unmarked Pay N Spray.(Not on the in-game map)
That's my main LV entrance.
From the 4 Dragons, head to Caligula's, on the strip.
Don't cross the last street before Caligula's but turn right on it,
you'll be heading east. Caligula's wall. There's a parking garage
on the right hand side of this street. Follow it to the end, there's a
traffic light. Observe the Pay N Spray advertisemt painted on a wall.
That's the place. As far as actual directions, turn right at that
light. Make the next left, and it's right there.

I used to bait pedestrians and cops in there.
The strip between the sidewalk and the spraying floor is
not solid, and an entrance to the Underworld.
If you just jump or walk in there, that strip will only provide a Blue
Hell jump experience.

It's as good of a jetpack entrance as the Mulholland safe house.
Plus, it's a Pay-N-Spray that actually works!
Keeps CJ in the camera view while spraying as well.

There's another entrance on the rocky shores on the eastern coast,
on the water. It's difficult to get in, but not impossible. I'll try
and do it again and make exact directions. Sort of by K.A.C.C.

I have heard this, and was hoping it was a kid's rumor.
That's too bad. I also heard there's a patch fix for the save icon at
Madd Dogg's that causes all the basketballs to dissappear, so that's a
good thing in the PC version. It's un-fixable on PS2.

I just found another Underworld entrance off the Julius thruway.
A quicksand hill going back up to the street, LV Freight Depot,
real close to those street races. The road that crosses Julius south,
dead ends at the church. (Horse Shoe)

That overpass bridge, lower left side, right off the Julius. (North)
If you take a bike, it's just like the pay n spray, mulholland safe
house, or 'end of the line' crack den wall knocked out early: Easy
Triple Insane. Just do the blue hell jump, you end up on the overpass
bridge.
