I have been noticing an intel boot error when it can't find my drive in
this GW 200ARC notebook. If the cable is re-seated,after unscrewing the
hard drive door to gain access, it seems to work for a few weeks and
after awhile I need to do it again. This is really a cheasy hookup - it
is a film like cable. There was a piece of tape over it. The cable has
flat metal detectors that slide into a slot when a little plastic hinge
locks into place.
Anyone have a similar problem? The notebook chasis has been replaced
twice under warranty and the last time the tech said the cable was OK.
I beg to differ - has now happened on two computers chasis.
There is possibly a problem with the boot sector of my hard drive, but
GW diagnostics doesn't indicate it and the error code on the intel boot
says to check the cable.
