I'm the guy that bought a GeForce 5200 at Wal-Mart and opened the box to
reveal a Ti 4200. It played fine (oc'd) for a year till yesterday. The fan
died and so did the card shortly thereafter.

My PC is a low-end EMachines W2686 (2.4G Athlon / 512M / 166 fsb). The 4200
played super on FS2004 (40-50fps) and I need a similar card that will do
likewise and does not require more than a 250W supply. Looking for a newer
card not another 4200. FS2004 is my most demanding 3D game I have
installed..so for me it is my benchmark.

Thanks ..I'm ready to buy now....

I'm looking for a "card recommendation" based on the previous performance
criteria I cited in my ad. I am not looking for a webpage referral that
would not know my system and it's limitations.

Thanks anyway.....

-ps I DO at least know that GeForce 5200's are a huge step BACKWARDS from
the older Ti4200...sheesh!!!!

Most cards on the market today, including the lower end ones, require a
mini,u, PSU of 300 Watts. 250 Watts is VERY minimal.

ok, the ti4200 was about the same speed as a geforce 5600 or ati 9600xt. I
think the ati is a bit faster.

the difference is the newer cards supported directx 9.
