....or use the Hunter to knock him out the sky. Often he'll explode
before he hits the ground, but I still think it's funny when he clips a
tree and flies off in a completely different direction.
Dogfighting in the Hydra is pretty cool. I love the 'Vertical Bird'
mission as you're fending off three of the blighters (If you don't take
out the one on the carrier first, then it's just two).
A slightly more difficult way to get him off your back is to get in a
plane and keep rotating the camera around you in the long shot to see
where he's coming from. When you've spotted him, and you have to be
REALLY quick otherwise his missiles will hit you, jump out the plane
and use the minigun.
Very impressive if you pull it off and the CPU always spawns another
right away. The Hydra seems to disappear almost instantly if you get
out of your aircraft and run around on foot, hence the speed of this
trick. I'll try and video it a bit later, as mentioned in another post
I'm on a bit of a spree for modded cars. Btw, anybody know where I can
find a Buccaneer? I remember seeing them around Easter Basin (SF) and
El Corono (LS). It looks like a Remington lowrider dunnit?

I was trying the "peaceful circle" challenge, where you do a circuit of SA
with nothing but the $350 in your pocket. Jacked a police bike, rode it into
the sea at Hankypanky Point, picked up the armour near the jetboat (you can
do this without getting four stars) then got back on the jetboat to start my
circuit.
When I got to the sea sparrow in the middle of the north coast, I switched,
and a hydra spawned immediately. I managed to get all the way to that bridge
just north of Chiliad before taking a missile hit. I landed on the sea and
went for a swim to look for a boat to finish the challenge.
The hydra just hit the sea in a ball of flames, right in front of me. He
must have clipped the bridge in his last pass. I laughed all the way to the
docks (I found a boat), where I got shot to hell without finishing the
challenge.
(Incidentally, to do the challenge, you need to go right into the section
where Ryder and CJ steal the National Guard's guns - otherwise the map
leaves an "unexplored" section outside your route taken.)

I normally start at LS Arena, after going south down the train tracks
from the very start to collect the armour in the wasteland.

I did ...
Here's some more pics. Here, I'm right behind the fighter.
I can stay there for quite some time.
Eventually, he banked straight up. So I turned around and
eventually crashed into him head on. I parachuted to safety,
but I couldn't see the fighter crashing. Too bad. No cap for
that.
