I have a geforce 2 mx/400 video card with tv/out

I am trying to use the tv out option to connect the computer to my tv. The
video card has svideo and composite out.

I have tried every consievable setting combination on the latest nvideo
geforce drivers but no mater what combination I try I can only get Black and
White output. No color at all.

Cables are ok as I have a dvd card and that outputs color ok to my tv.

Please help. any ideas would be appreciated on how to get color from tv out
of my video card.

The problem remains but the symtems are slightly different. I've been able
to get color out after deleting and reloading drivers with the cables
plugged into the tv so I assume it can detect the tv settings, but it seems
after a couple of hours it will revert back to black and white again. and
there seems no way to recover the color for tv out.

Has anyone seen this happen before? and how to resolve it.

Tv-out on a lot of cards, both ATI and Nvidia can be just plain flaky. When
mine goes B&W, I just unplug the S-Video cable from the TV and plug it right
back in. The color reappears. It's usually just that simple and stupid
but it works.

Three suggestions:

If you have your board set to PAL rather than NTSC composite out you will
get a B&W picture - the frame rate and number of horizontal lines will be
wrong, but the TV will handle that; the color subcarrier will be wrong, but
the TV will not handle that, resulting in a B&W picture that perhaps shakes
a bit. Check for a jumper connection on your card; make sure it is set to
NTSC. (If you are in a country that uses PAL instead of NTSC, read the
preceeding two sentences with NTSC and PAL swapped.)

Your connecting cable may be an audio cable rather than a video cable (same
type of connectors, different impedance); this atennuates the higher
frequencies that contain the color information, resulting in a B&W picture.
Try a different cable that you know is good.

The video input for your TV may have a problem; check with a known good
video output, a VCR for example.
