I have set up wireless networking between my XP and my ME computers but the connection is very slow i.e it takes a long time to get material from one computer to the other and big files (music, video etc) tends to make the connection crash. What causes this - is it the amount of material on/speed of each computer or the quality of the link? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Many thanks in anticipation!

Hi there Mark,

Presumably you have a wireless router setup for the computers. The 128 bit
encryption may contribute to a slower data transfer. Therefore, try
switching to 64bit.

Furthermore, try switching to a diff channel.

Very many thanks Venkatesh. I'll see if I can work out how to do that and see if it makes a difference! (Are these settings on my router (Belkin) or part of Windows??)

Yes Mark, the settings being mentioned must be in the Belkin router settings
page. The encryption option can be found under security option & channel
could be found under wireless settings.

Good luck!
Venkatesh
