ive tried clone and dual view and both optionsi have to use my
monitor. IMy monitor is in the same room with me at the momment just
to test the TV out but i want to put i back in my Pc room.

I want to be able to run the the movie playing, muisic ect from my
lounge room from my TV but i have no managed to do this as yet.

When i run clone mode that wont work as it just displays the copntens
of my monitor on the Tv and i still need the monitor to control it all
:(

If i use dualview even if i copy my Intire destop over to the other
screen any thing i open opens on the monitor screen only. even if i
open it on the dual view screen ???

And if i open a moview i have NO control of it on the TV screen. What
am i doing wrong. I need some help if you can point me to some
websites with som ehelp on them that would be great.

All i wat is to be able to be completly independant of the monitor.

I have a 6600 GT,and it s connected to my HD Tv via a Din to Componet
connection. VERY nice picture. I also have windows XP Pro.

Thanks for any help.

To disable full screen video mirroring and get both screens to display the
same thing, assuming that that's what you want, you need to set yer Media
playes to run in VMR mode ( such as VMR high quality mode ) and not overlay.
This will allow video to be mirrored on both displays identically and still
give you the navigation controls.

What do you mean by with both options you have to use the monitor? In clone
mode with VMR high quality mode, you'll get a mirror of the monitor. in Dual
View mode, you'll get two independent displays. Do you mean that you want
just the video on the mirror screen with a bunch of controls and not a clone
of the monitor OR just the video without any controls?

If you use something like the Snapstream Firefly remote, you should be able
to control it from another room on yer TV.

I want to be able to play movies via the TV. And have all the control
i do as i have on the Monitor. When i go to fullscreen on the TV i
loose control of the Tv and have to go to the Monitor to turn it off
or anything.

I tried VBR but it makes the video choppy. But this is just with HD
movies and clips. I suppose my Barton 2500 is just not upto it. I read
somehwre where i shpould turn on Video Accelleration or somthing.

I think mayby i shoudl get a media PC and just have that for my HD
movies ect. But even then i would like to just run it via my TV screen
rather than having to run it via a Monitor connected to it.

Is this enough info for you. Iam sorry if iam giving you a heachace as
iam not very knowledgable qabout these things.

What would be my best bet on setting up my system with what i have ??

Thanks for the help.

VMR ( Video Mixing Renderer, High Quality Mode ) should be what you're
using, not VBR. You can enable this setting from the Tools menu under
Options ( in Windows Media Player 10 ), Performance Tab, Advanced. Here set
the output mode to Video Mixing Renderer, High Quality Mode ( not overlays.
Selecting overlays will cause either one screen to display black where the
video is OR showup fullscreen. ).

As for HD clips ( WMV HD ) you need a patch from Microsoft:

There's actually a second patch on this page which needs to be applied. Look
further down the page.

http://www.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;888656 ( you
need to reboot after these two patches. )

This should allow WMV HD clips to play back properly though on my systems
( Athlon 64 2800, 1.8 GHz, Pentium 4 2.4 GHz Northwood ), the audio is ahead
of the video with this patch. However, there're no dropped frames. I know
someone with an Athlon XP 2800 who can play back all the 1080p clips fine
except for the ones with DRM ( like the Alexander 1080p and Batman Begins
1080p trailers ). Step Into Liquid 1080p is a killer clip. If this works
fine on yer system, then the patch works.

As for H264 decoding, there are rumours which suggest that the GeForce 6
series with a working video processor ( GF 6600 GT AGP/PCI-E, GF 6800
non-ultra PCI-E and ( up to 720p ) on the GF 6200 AGP/PCI-E ) will work
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/06/23/review_nvidia_g....
There's already a leaked driver which accelerates H264 on the GF 7800 GTX
( ForceWare 80, but it only works on the GF 7 at the moment )

'tis a beta patch from Microsoft. They don't recommend you install it until
the final version is out.

Wont let me install it anyway, Says preregrist somthing not found. And
does not aloow me to install it.

Funny thing i tried to play some HD files after that and all failed
and crashed WMP ??

Might have installed somthing and broke it. I reinstalled it and is
working fine now.

Thanks.
