6800 or 6600

The last time I looked, I only had enough money for a 6600, but the
prices of the 6800’s have now dropped to my level! (Due to the new 7800)
But I’m still confused.
I assume that the 6800 series is faster / better than the 6600 series,
but is this true? Are some 6600’s more capable than some 6800’s?
Is the memory speed comparable between the two, or is, for example, a
300MHz 6800 faster than a 500MHz 6600?
Also, what revisions from each series should be avoided, if any (LE / TD
etc,)?

Look at the 6600 GT specs. It may be just what you are looking for.
