More about : start computer showing black screen hang-the-9 a c 376 $ Windows 7 November 30, 2010 2:14:06 PM Because there is something not working right with the computer. For more details you need to explain more, does the BIOS screen come up? Does the PC actually turn on, fans spin, lights go on, etc...? Have you checked the monitor connections, have you tried the monitor on another computer? Have you tried a new monitor on your computer? Open the case and check for any damage to the capacitors on the motherboard, try a different video card, try a different power supply. If after all that nothing works, you probably need to replace the computer. m 0 l bmathews November 30, 2010 4:43:42 PM After looking into this a bit, I found that this solution seemed to help quite a few people! - Restart your PC and press F8 durring the startup. When you get options chose Safe Mode. - Click Start, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click Device Manager. - In the list of hardware categories, expand the Display adapters category. - Right click on your display adapter and click Disable. - Restart the PC normally. See if you can now get to your desktop. If that works you are working with a video issue. If not there are other steps you can try.
