I have a yellow shield with a red exclamation mark on the task bar down in
the right hand corner. I can't click on it, but when I scan the mouse over
it, it reads, downloading updates 19%. This has been sitting there for
nearly a day now. Is this part of the Information Bar? Should it take this
long to download an update? I can't find anything about it in any of the
help info I've looked through.

thanks,

That isn't your information bar (that would be in your IE window) - it's
automatic updates, downloading from Windows Update. You can control the
settings in control panel, automatic update...set it as you wish. I
personally like 'download and notify' rather than 'download and
automatically install' so I can control it.
