After installing critical updates suddenly xp requires log..

I use winxp sp2. After installing some security updates performing restart,
my computer suddenly requires log on password!? I didn't have any till than,
so what is going on? What on earth should I do now? Please advice.

You might try booting into Safe Mode and using the built-in
Administrator account to remove the password. Take a look here:

If you want computer to boot directly to Desktop without haveng to log on:
Start/Run
Type "control userpasswords2" ENTER
Uncheck "Users must enter..."
Click OK, follow prompts and reboot.

Jones,
The problenm is that I can't log on to my computer because
the update I recently installed suddenly requires me to insert password.
I simply does not have access any more to my computer.
What do you suggest me to do?

Try leaving the password blank.
