Hi. I have a Toshiba A75-S209 Laptop. Every time I power it off and then
turn it back on, I get the same Security Center advisory balloon in my icon
tray. It is advising me that I have no virus protection. Each time, I have
to go into the security center and click on the check box stating "I have an
antivirus program that I'll monitor myself..." While this is'nt a big
problem, it IS annoying. I have Symantec Anti-virus, Corporate edition. Im
running Windows XP...any takers?

Sure. If you know (as you apparently do) that your av is current and
definitions are up-to-date, just go to the Security Center applet in
Control Panel, click on the link on the left that says, "change how
Security Center alerts me" and uncheck the box next to the alerts for
av.

Malke, Tried that. In fact, I have to keep opening security (annoying
balloon) everytime I power on my laptop. Its something to do with Symantec
Antivirus...

1. Try updating NAV. Look on their site.
2. If you've told Security Center *not* to send you alerts and it
insists on ignoring your wishes, disable the service.
Start>Run services.msc [enter]
Scroll down to the Security Center service, double-click it to get its
properties, stop the service and disable it.
