i'm having problems both in desktop and games mode 800x600 (on my monitor) -
the screen is too big for the resolution - it scrolls like its on tv out or
something - have 9600xt

any fix for this ? can' t find any setting that will change it - makes
finding buttons in games difficult as the screen wont scroll when its doing
this, only in desktop does it scroll

TIA

Well, I just experienced a very simiar problem this very evening, when I
finally updated my ATi Drivers. What seemed to finally work for me was
running the registry editor (Start->Run->regedit) and once there, I did a
search for "restricted." I deleted all registry keys that were named
"DALRestrictedModeBCD." There were several of them and they sometimes ended
in a number. I also deleted some similiar keys, whose exact names I forget,
but seemed relevant at the time. After this, reboot and see if changing to
a higher resolution works correctly. All I can say is that it worked for
me. Best to probably back up your registry first.
