With non-steam HL games The All-Seeing Eye would show maps not on your
harddisk in red color (not found). This was a very nice feature if you
were on a slow line or did not want to donwload huge maps to your HDD.
Under Steam this does not work anymore, and the answer I got when
asking the first time was that this was because the "standard" maps
are hidden inside the .GCF files to it's not possible to check.
BUT late one night I got a thougt (yes, it does happend :-)
Couldn't someone make a list of the maps that are "standard" with the
different Steam games (or get one from Valve, or extract from the GCF)
Then The All-Seeing Eyes could chech the server-map list against this
list of "standard" maps (included from Valve), AND if not found among
those, THEN check on the HDD for extra maps. If the map is NEITHER in
the "standard" list NOR on harddisk THEN the map could be in RED text.
The "standard" maps list could be either included in updates of the
All-Seeing Eye program, OR in the same way as the "filters.txt" list
The joint resources of all All-Seeing Eyes users could easily put
togheter such a list I guess (or by some debugging of the GCF files)
