I dont mean to bitch
but HALO for PC is a great game, but
well i want to know what the reviewers tested it on?
i have a 2 G 768 MB ram 128 M 9200 se

yet halo always manages to run like an ass
i have to set the dam resolution to 640!!!! to get it to run nice
ive updated all my drivers as well
and sometimes the textures stuff up
like it looks like white snowy mirrors sumtimes

wondering if anyone else has these problems
and any other ways to make it run faster?
my friend has a 9600 256 MB 3d card and he has said it slowed right down as well

I have a 9600 pro, and the demo runs fine on multiplayer. default gfx, 1024*768 res. Is your friends card 9600 or 9600 pro?

Anxiously awaiting prescott....is it here yet?

I've heard that it runs slow on almost anything. Maybe try disabling the AA and AF.

the game is poo poo and it runs poorly on any machine despite having plain graphics and being an "old" game. As one writer said when using Halo as a benchmark "getting the game to run at all is an achievement"

"9200 se" - have you considered that this might be your problem?

it runs to my system also very slow:
640 * 480
texture quality to MIN.
effects off.

It ran very nicely on my comp even though I have 128Ram and GF4MX card(although it could be a bug:))

Halo runs fine on my system (speds below) at 1024x768, although the game itself leaves much to be desired.

Spec:

MSI 645E Max-U Mobo
512MB DDR333
GF3 ti200 64MB
SB Live 5.1
WD 60GB

LG 24x24x32 CDR

it's your graphics card...radeon 9200se 128mb wouldn't have a chance.

My Rig:
AthlonXP 2000+ 1.677ghz
GeForce Verto FX5200 128mb DDR
Maxtor 7200RPM 80GB, Stock 40gb

It runs fine on my two computers, and I have a friend closer to you...XP 1900+ and ATI9100, and it runs good at 800x600 with most things turn on... and this is with 384MB of PC133 ram...

Is your 2GHz cpu a celeron?

Halo is a very demanding game. I play @ 50 Fps with a R9800 Pro. Its dificult to maage good fps with a low end card... Only in low resolutions and low detail! 9200SE is very slow for every recent game...
