Please help.
I have installed a fresh version of Windows SP1 and was in the middle of
installing SP2 on the machine and have received the following error.
Control ID not found.
Service Pack 2 installation did not complete.

I have looked on the microsoft site have come across the following site:
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;878472
However, this has to do with eTrust Antivirus that I do not have loaded on
the machine.

Any help would be nice.

When you attempt to install Service Pack 2 for Windows XP,
you receive 'Control ID not found'?

Thanks for the reply. I've looked over all of your recommendations and I've
tried all of them and they did not work. I forgot in the last post to say
that there is no anti-virus protection on this PC as it is a brand new build.
Thanks,
Rob
