Hi,
I'm looking around for buying an GPS system for my newly purchased Toshiba
e800 (WiFi, not BT). Favourite is TomTom (wired; as I am not going to buy a
BT card). Are there any users here who can give me a feedback how TomTom 3
works on a PocketPC?
I will have to buy several maps. Is it possible to have a route calculation
with border crossing, like e.g. from Germany to France, if both maps are on
the same CF card?
TIA

Hi there,
TomTom is a great application. It is fairly easy to use and reliable.
The TomTom 3 packages for Europe include one set of maps plus a set with the
main roads of Europe, so, you can easily calculate routes crossing borders
while in these most important roads.
If you purchase the map pack for TomTom, which includes maps for all Europe,
you can calculate routes even outside the main roads, so, it will do what
you need.
I would really recommed you to purchase a Bluetooth card and the Bluetooth
version of TomTom as it is easier to use and you don't have to care about
wires, but the wired version is good also.
Cheers,
Paulo

Browse our site, read the review and lurk in the forums, TomTom's a great
package and v3 comes with with the Major Roads of Europe map (MRE) in
addition to your chosen country map which allows cross border navigation
using major roads. Once in your chosen region you would then switch to the
more detailed country map. You can either buy additional country maps
singly or the Maps of Western Europe package which covers 15 countries to
street level and comes on 9 CD's. If you intend buying more than 2
countries then it is cheaper to buy this package.
