Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have to deploy 15 new computers
in my office and these are all fresh IBM PreInstalled XP Pro machines.
Does anyone know from where I can download all available patches since XP
SP2 to one machine and update all of the machines locally rather than
connecting each machine to windows update and have them download everything
individually ?
I need to do this as I have limited bandwidth (128kbps) and it would take
too long for all the computers to download the patches individually.

Start using SUS (Search the Microsoft site for it).
Also, you can download them (and see a list of the bulletins) here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/bulletins ( SP2 was released in August. )

Thanks for your reply.
I looked for the updates on the link you provided, I could find descriptions
of all the updates that have been available and their threat rating, but,
there is no link to download the updates, there is just a link to Windows
Update.
I was hoping to download the updates manually and make a CD to update the
new computers before I put them on the network as I am afraid that they might
get compromised before they are patched. Do you have any idea where I could
download the .exe or .zip files that contain the updates? I have already
downloaded the SP2 update from the microsoft download center.
I was planning to first install SP2 and then all the relevant updated since
then.
Thanks,
chandrasekhar

Wow.. Didn't look long, huh?
Click on the grouping (usually by month..)
Then on the next page you will see the spread-out list. Click on "Get
technical details in the full security bulletin" for each one. (Right-Click
and Open in New Window to stay better organized.) Usually at the top is the
"Affected Software:" section with the appropriate "Download the update" link
associated with it.
Or you could go to : http://unattended.sourceforge.net/ ( Specifically: http://snipurl.com/cf0m )
And there in that batch script (used in the fine process created by the
contributors of this project) you will find links to the different patches
released since SP2 in just about every language.
Both of the project above could help you in the future with these tasks.

If you have SP2 and have the Firewall ON, you should not be compromised.

Has a list (and a pack) you could get. I cannot couch for the pack, but the
list is okay.

Thanks very much for all the great information.
I downloaded all the patches and am going to try to make an Unattended
server for the updates. I will write again if I have problems. but, only
after I try as much as I can Thanks very much once again.
