WIN7 issues

Toshiba P205-S6307 upgraded from Vista HP to 7HP. Now system will not go into sleep mode. The screen goes black and all seems well but it does not power down. Then you can not "wake" the system without using the power button off/on and then you get the improper shutdown message. Tried a re-install per instructions on Toshiba site w/o success. All drivers are up to date per web site and also using Driver Genius. Checked many forums but nothing has worked so far.

opened thread whenn I got to #5 there was no power management tab - only general tab. looked at hybrid sleep mode and batt and plugged in mode were defaulted to "off". ??
thanks anyway.......
