Hi,

Does anyone know why AI is disabled on HL 2? What causes this and how does
one undo it? Thanks.

I had a few AI issues like that. I fixed by making <game
dir>hl2\cfg\autoexec.cfg file with following line in it:
ai_norebuildgraph "1"

Re-start game and see it that helps.

It's a known problem in the cracked version of the game

It's a common problem with the pirated version of the game, it adds
corrupted sectors onto your Hard Disk - format your disk and reinstall
everything

If pirated software is really that bad, why do people risk system damage
instead of paying money for it?

It's not, they are just jealous and bitter because they can't find it.

Hit your PC with a hammer. Then hit yourself with a hammer. That should
solve the problem.

This procedure even has a name. It's called "Percussive Maintenance" and is defined as "The fine art
of beating something with a stick until it works". Apparently, however, there is a compatibility
problem between stick and human head. Use at your own risk...

It's because you stole instead of purchased.

It's a common problem caused by Steam with pirated SW : if you did
pirate it, do the following : remove your c:\Windows\System32 directory
using the windows explorer and windows will automatically rebuild it on
a reboot.

Jealous and bitter? doubt it, considering some of us make enough money
in one hour to pay for the game in the first place. Some people think
that just because they have a minimum wage job they have the right to
steal.

Perhaps not jealous and bitter, but snobbish. You are insinuating that the
only people stealing the game are those on minimum wage incomes (while
bragging about your own rate of pay). If you think only the poorly paid
steal, then think again.

OK then, if a person wants to argue that they CAN afford the game but
still steal it, then I still hold my arguement that they're thieving
pieces of garbage.

Heh, snobby liars is more like it. GTD is probably a 15 year old snot-nose
with no job at all and gets mommy to buy his games. <G>

Guess again. My reply was aimed at the idiot that implied that people
that don't agree with stealing are jealous because of their lack of
stealing skills. My point was, and still is, that if a person gets off
their ass and makes something of themselves, they don't have to lower
themselves to stealing. If they still choose to steal, then they're
still just a lowlife theif, but they won't have poverty as an excuse,
as it is often used as.
