Difference in brand

My card just broke down (Sapphire 9800) and the replacement will take to
long. Because of this I am allowed to choose a different brand (club3d,
gigabyte, transcend).

The question: is there a difference between the brands in performance,
stability or otherwise? Can't find benchmarks of cards using the same video
chipset.

Yes Gigabyte !!!! I build these machines every day.
Go with Gigabyte. They are not perfect, but my RMAs
dropped to nearly zero .. I have never RMA'd a
Gigabyte video card .. and some of them I wish would
break ( the ELSAs, bleh ).

According to you the Gigabytes are more reliable. But what about performance
and stability. Some manufactures using the ATI radeon chipset release their
own versions of the Catalyst driver. How wel does the gigabyte work against
the ATI released drivers in aspectes of performance and stability?

Most likely it will not be a gigabyte afterall. Deliverytime of this card is
unknown.
