Is there anyone who is running Doom3 with the subj card/cats, and not having
video issues? While I am waiting to recv my Doom 3 preorder, I have been
reading some forums, and noticed ATI's name comes up frequently as having
some sort of problem. I suspect it may be OC.

Thanks

Jim

im not runing a 9800tx but a 9700pro and 4.7 i see a few things i dont like
in the game or it may be a driver. when starting doom and setting it up the
txt was blurry and way to hard to read till i clicked on the box to test sys
and set it up then it looked great at normal setting and at most res im
sticking with 1024x768 mormal setting. but if i hit high setting it went
blurry again on the txt. the only other thing i found with doom 3 is it
drops my sound after a few min of play "audigy 2 zs" if i have it set for
souround sound.

k sound problems fixed i run 2 sound cards one for mic and head phones for
chating while gameing and the audigy for sound in games. big mistake.
i still havent worked out why i cant get the txt readable in high or ultra
settings. i know it would be a slide show but it shuld work and the txt
shuld be clean not blury like it is.
the game looks great at normal settings but i wanted to see high just for
the hell of it.

9800 Pro 4.9 betas nothing to complain about, except I wish I could run
it in ultra detail.

What settings are you using now?

I'm using 800x600, medium quality with 2xAA - anything more than that
and the frame-rate starts suffering too much.

1024x768 high, no AA, 2xAA doesn't do anything noticeable visually, just
degrades performance.
44 fps timedemo.

I'm running a standard ATI 9800xt with Catalyst 4.7. Running Doom 3 at 1024
x 768, High quality (don't ask about AA or AF, I don't believe I've set
these at all). Game runs fine, frame rates are decent. My only complaint
is the one that everyone else shares: wall textures and the like look
grainy/blurry close up. Other than that, I'm fairly pleased.
