I have just taken delivery of my 4150 and am delighted with it. However, I
can't connect to the internet via WiFi (I have an Orinoco Access point). All
this business about 'My Work Settings' and 'This card connects to the
Internet' etc. etc. has me utterly confused. Is there a simple step-through
guide anywhere?

I have a good strong signal and my previous Ipaq (3870 with an Orinoco
sillver card) worked fine through the same access point.

PPC 2003 seems hopelessly confusing in this regard - I would appreciate any
help

Many thanks

Ted

You want to set that card to connect to the internet. Did the 4100 see
the access point and ask for WEP info or see the SSID of the wireless
network?

I have the card set to access the Internet and yes it did ask for WEP info
(I don't have one set - I live right out in the country) and it has the SSID
picked up OK. I have, for example, inbox to connect via the Connection
'Work' (Have tried the Internet to no avail). I have tried the pop mailbox
address and the IP address and still get the message 'Messages cannot be
downloaded.......'etc. A web address entered in PIE gives the mesage 'The
page you are looking for cannot be found' . Both appear almost
immediately.....

Ok, open connection manager. start|Settings|Connections|Connections.
Advanced tab, Select Networks.

MY ISP should be in the top box. Is it? If it says something about
bluetooth, that is the problem.

With much thanks (and embarrassment) I have to report that I had forgotten
that I had disabled ICS in XP. All is now well.

Apologies for wasting your time

Ahhh... I never thought about that. I have a router. :-) Glad you
sorted it out.
