offline files cant remove path

an xp pro client had there my docs folder pointed to another xp pro file
share. there docs always synced at logoff. Everything worked fine. Then we
got a new file server with a bigger hard drive. I created the share on the
new drive, and pointed the clients my docs to it. that worked fine.
however, there machine still tries to hit the old path to sync the files and
obviously keeps on failing because the path is no longer valid. i donot see
where this entry can be deleted. any help would be appreciated. thanks
