I am trying to install a program on my XP, but when I try, it says admin
policies prohibit this. What can I do to fix this. I have not set any such
policies. it is XP home edition.

Are you logged in as an Administrator?

Yes I am signed as an administrator

Not sure about Home Edition - maybe you have to be logged in as THE
administrator, not AN administrator?
