Wow! I was starting up my Steam program to play Half-Life and it had a
pop-up that said "pre-load Half-Life2 now!" Of course the server is jammed
like mad so I wasn't able to download it. Now that I posted this I'm
definitely not going to be able to download it. Oh well, such is life.

EB has changed the ship date from 9/1/04 to 11/1/04 and from what I
understand the preload is not playable yet and wont be until the game is
also "shipped" so it seems it is delayed again.

I bet some people at Valve are playing the finished game and laughing their
asses off at half-life fanboys going crazy over all those delays. :)

Yeah! And all that money they're not gettin! I'm generally fed up of hearing
about it now, it will b that long in the tooth when it comes out it will b a
joke for me. Delays annoy me, especially pointless ones, and i bet it will
still need a ton of patches to work after it's been released, as it will
probably be realised when it's in an "it'll do" status. I doubt i'll b
buying it any more, it's hype and news will proceed it, leaving it a what
could have been. Why did they actually have to delay it anyway? Yeah some
code was stolen, what they doing about it changing al the code for the
game?? Will b pirated by all the cheap people anyway...

You do realize that EBGames has heard absolutely nothing from Valve or
Vivendi, and they are changing their ship dates entirely on their own based
on zero information?

The preload is a much better indicator than any EBGames date...

No, I mean what proof do you have to say that EB have had no info from
Valve? I doubt it's possible to say with 100% confidence that any date
changes EB announce are based on numbers plucked out of their heads.

That's what I meant. The email EB sent specifically said they had received
no release date information from Valve or Vivendi, and that the date was
simply their estimate.

I wish I had kept the thing...

I'm not buying it. According to ATI they're giving it to me for free because
