Windows XP updates failed

I do have a few Windows XP SP1 and 2 machines where my updates failed. This
is the enviroment:
Windows 2003 AD, I also run SUS on a Windows 2003 server. When you visit
Microsoft.com OS updates the machine is checked and scanned. It will list
the needed updates but when you try to install it failed. I did change to
different proxy servers and it is still failing. I did try to compare the
various machines but cannot find anything different between them. I did look
at the update.log file and find the following entries in the last few lines.

2005-03-03 12:04:09+0200 3792 bdc PT: Using serverID

https://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ClientWebService/client.asmx

succeeded
2005-03-03 12:04:09+0200 3792 bdc DetectCompressionType returning type 1,
hr=0x0
2005-03-03 12:13:45+0200 3660 df0 Out of proc datastore is shutting down
2005-03-03 12:13:46+0200 3660 df0 Out of proc datastore is now inactive
