I want to get into my daughter account to see what she is upto. How do I
find out her password or logon without it?

You'll have to politely ask your daughter for the password.
Otherwise, you are denied access to her account.

I have to believe there is a way.

Doug;
Sure, you can get in.
Log in to any account on the computer with Administrator access.
Go to User accounts and change her password.
Log out then log back in the her account.
Of course she will know.
It is by design that you can not simply go in and leave no trace.

A better option is to talk and keep communication open.
Sneaking around will eventually cause more problems than it will solve..

You would be correct.
However - even as a parent trying to be sneaky - isn't the curiosity of what
the reaction would be if you asked your daughter what she is doing and if
you can logon as her because it is your computer too and you want to insure
she is safe good enough to do it and guage the response accordingly?

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately

You can get a "key logger" cheaper than that - depending on how often you do
a malware scan, your PC may already have one ;-)

*Grin*

Sadly enough, all too true.

If you really want to figure out what your kids are doing though, you don't
get any better than that program.
