missing. When go install new programs, i.e: like a game, do i have to
download it right into pocket pc or on my desktop then decide where to
install. thanks..................................

No, the only way to access the PocketPC is via ActiveSync Explore. That is by design.
When you install programs to your PPC, its usually done from the desktop while in an ActiveSync
session. The program will ask you where you want to install to. Sometimes developers create a .cab
file that you simply copy over to the PPC and execute on the PPC.

No this cannot be done. You need to use Active Sync in order to install
programs. And this is done with the USB or serial cradle. Yes I know its a
bit slower than a network.
