Laptop connected to the router but i'm not able to access a web page.

i have a acer 5738z. the problem is i'm not able to access any web page but my laptop is connected to my router and it says the internet is activated but i'm not able to access the internet and all the apllication that needs the internet are not able to access the internet (real player, my anti-virus, internet explorer , google chrome)but an application like skype work(i don't know why???).if you can help me i've tried every basic troubleshooting like checking the router, checking the ineternet option setting, check the ip address,dns,etc. help
