I just got mine about a month ago for $420 cdn. The AIW was only like $15 more expensive than the non-AIW so I figured that was a pretty good deal. Great card. I'd say go for it now. Why wait? Sure, it might come down $20 in the next 4 weeks, but then you're basically giving up a month for $20. Or put it this way, if you buy now, you're paying $20 to have it now instead of in a month.

Price out a Radeon 9800 AIW Pro vs an Audigy2 + R9800 XT + seperate TV capture card and then tell me.

Besides, I'd much rather have an nForce APU with it's ac3 encoding. It just sounds so much better on my HT system then PCM.

Hey silver. the RAM on the AIW 9800PRO is it DDR1 or DDR2? i check the specs at the ATI product comparision page and it says the RAM on the AIW 9800PRO is DDR2 type. it also doesn't say anything about Dual Monitor support. u have any idea?

No problem.

I really should know this, but I couldn't tell you about the DDRI/DDRII thing. I can't see anything on the chips saying one way or the other.

No dual monitor support. You have just a DVI out and an S-Video out and that's it (there is a DVI to VGA converter that comes with the card so you can hook it up to a CRT for sure).

tnx man, anyways, i dont think i will ever use DUAL Monitor. but i can use VGA and TV-OUT at the same time right?

I don't think so. Check the ATI site to be sure. I never had occasion to try (don't even have a TV hooked up to it).
