Switched from intel motherboard

Hello,
I switched from an intel motherboard to an amd one after installing windows 8 and new board will not recognize that there is a HDD connected. Is it a possible conflict with previously installed drivers or is it possible that my HDD is fried?

Can you see it in bios? if not check your connection.

Check connection and power connector. Also check if AHCI is supported.

you could try to do a repair install but you should just start over from scratch...

i tried the repair install first, but there was a conflict with drive partition types, so i ended up deleting the partitions and formatting the drive so i could do a clean install
