ati radeon 9700 pro fan not working

hi all,
i am running an ati radeon 9700 pro. after running for five minutes i
get red lines across the screen. i opened the case and noticed that
the card is getting very hot and that the fan is not working. the fan
is plugged in though. any ideas on what may be causing this?
i am runnin win xp sp2. thanks.

Fan failed. Get a replacement VGA cooler from your local PC store.

Clean the damn fan thang! Maybe a little oil on the fan shaft wouldn't hurt.

and if that don't work buy a new fan for that card.
