What's the prefered Brand of X800XT card out there. Newegg currently
has Connect3d versions in stock, can anyone vouch for their quality?
I've heard that one should stay away from saphire, is this true? what
about Powercolor?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

You should start drinking prune juice and KY jelly cocktails right now,
that will make things a lot smoother.

Noticed you posted in Half-Life 2 forum too, but thanks for not
cross-posting... Here is my response from there as well:

For the most part they are the same card. Apparently there was some fiasco
with PowerColor cards in the past that people are avoiding them, however
there is no reason to believe there are issues this time. Generally
speaking, other manufacturers get the stock cards from ATI smack their logos
on it, include a different bundled package and ship it. It's not like they
add their own chips or anything. Of course some add their own cooling
solution to allow for faster clock speeds, but I don't know of any that do
that, yet.

If you go with the Best Buy X800 XT, it is actually an ATI branded Platinum
Edition for $500. You will just have to go to a store and ask them to order
one for you from customer fulfillment. I did that, and mine shipped just
this Friday, one week after I ordered it. Can't find $500 XT's let alone
Platinum editions anywhere else.

I'd reccomend the ASUS' Radeons or the Gigabyte's,Sapphire is also a
good choice though they had some probs in the past.
I always stay away from cards like Powercolor but it's your choice.
