A keygen would do you no good, since the game communicates with the
Steam server during authentication, and all the keys would be invalid.

There is a working crack currently circulating, but I'm not going to
reveal it's whereabouts.

yea, umm because keygens have been up and running for some time for half life 2 loads of people are buying their copies only to find out they cant be played because theyre key was generated by a keygen. this means even tho they paid for the game they cant play it. they have no customer support and can only buy another copy. seriousley, i wish these companies would just give up this stupid copyright protection crap. it was a good idea at first but now its gone overboard. no matter what they do, people will always find a way round it. a not so intelligent solution would be making the box look fkin awesome so people who got the game illegally wouldnt have the super awesome box. HA that would show them.
