Is anyone running half life 2 on this board?

I dont get any sound coming out of the front left and right speakers when
playing the game and I have to be facing the sound source in the game to be
able to hear what is going on.

I upgraded from an Nforce 2 mainboard and the sound was fine on that.

By the way, the speakers all work fine in all other games.

System specs
Athlon 64 4000
2 gig ram
Geforce 6800GT
Asus A8N with onoard sound onboard
XP pro

Thanks all!

I have the same board and I have no sound issues at all.

Possibly a daft question, but do you:

1. Have the motherboard's sound config software set up for your actual speaker
arrangement?
2. Have the speakers plugged into the correct output jacks? (Apparently not an
issue with your motherboard, but still worth checking)
3. Have your actual speaker arrangement selected in HL2's audio options?

Just checking.
