Hi all,

Here is one question:
Having
1) a Win95 CD which came with the computer initially
2) a Win98SE upgrade CD which was purchased later

Does this mean that in order to install Windows on my new Hard drive I would have to install twice (once for win95 and once for win98 upgrade)?

Is there a clever way to combine those two CDs in one full win98SE CD? (I have a CD burner)

If all that's on the Win95 CD is Win95 itself (and not some OEM package full restore software), just install from your Win98SE Upgrade CD onto a fresh hard disk. It should ask you for proof of ownership of a previous Windows version sometime during the setup process, and at that point, just insert your Win95 CD and all should go well.

It seems fair !

How can I tell if there is OEM restore software in my win95 disc. What do I look for?

What happens if there is?

Thanks
Thomas A.

Look at the directory structure on the restore CD to see if there is a separate directory for win95. If there is, then you probably can use it as proof of ownership of win95.

If not, just install the restore, then run the win98 upgrade. It won't take that much more time anyway...maybe an hour.
