I am buying a laptop from hp that has a ati x600, pci
express card on it. Will I see any difference if I get the
256 mb version over the 128 mb?
How will this thing handle? I cant find any reviews on it?
I just want a general comparison.... Is the performance in the ati 9800
area??? Any links welcome.
Thanks

The desktop X600 is substantially slower than the 9800. However, things are
murky in the laptop area, since the mfr is free to set its own clock speeds
and such. Sometimes the same chipset in laptop form will have fewer
pipelines and fewer vertex units. At the same time, a high-performing mobile
chipset will murder battery life. Buyer beware.

256 MB is a waste of money on something like the X600.
