Is it at all possible to set up my ipaq 2210 to run from my CF card? I have
a 512mb sd card and a 256mb cf card. The internal memory gets on my nerves
as it only has 32mb free and gets full fast with programs running/internet
explorer web pages/programs on the device when I have so much external
room. Can I make it install onto an external card or at the very least set
it up so that the default for everything is my SD card?
Thanks in advance.. A FAQ page for info like this would be helpful if anyone
knows of any decent sites to stop hassling people on the newsgroup.

No, it's not possible to install the "operating system" anywhere but the internal RAM. You can, however, use your storage cards for a lot of your add-in applications. Most will allow you to install, run and create files to the storage card, but some require installation to internal RAM. The best way to determine whether an application requires RAM installation is to read its documentation. I know that can be tedious, but there are no real rules or tricks to identifying those apps.

You cannot install the operating system to a CF card. You can however, install applications to a CF card. When you install the application, it will ask if you want to install to the default directory. When than happens, answer NO. It will then give you the option to install to a storage card.
Note: This oly applies to add-in applications. The applications that come in with the PPC (Pocket Excell, Word, PIE, etc) reside in ROM.

as a side note there are several "tweak" utilities around that will also
allow for saving things such as, ie history, email attachments, avantgo
content and others to external cards.
