I decided to upgrade my Sapphire 8500 to a Sapphire 9600 Pro. I tried
NewEgg and ZipZoomFly and find they don't have the Atlantis version in
stock, only the Advantage version.
I went to the Sapphire site and looked at the images of these boards.
They look like completely different boards yet they have the same specs..
The Advantage board is green and is not as heavily populated as the Atlantis
version which is almost black in color.
I though that the 9600 XT would be an alternative at a slightly higher
price but I read that is slightly slower than the 9600 Pro. I don't
understand this because the XT has a 500 MHz clock vs. a 400 MHz clock for
the Pro.
Does anyone know the reason for the difference in the Atlantis and
Advantage board differences? Is the 9600 XT a better choice than the 9600
Pro?
TIA
