The weekends are dead for posting.
This thread is for the members who have nothing to do this weekend.
I'm doing absolutely nothing this weekend. I think I will go buy a case of beer.
Nothing + Beer = Better Than Nothing

Well, I do have things to do this weekend, but I'll contribute, anyway. (sorry if I broke the etiquette of the thread
)
Drinking beer now.
Football game and beer tomorrow.
Visit with the in-laws and check out the progress of the house on Sunday.
What kind of beer ya get?

The in-laws....I know the pain....I just spent a night with them.
Beer would be Labatt's Blue
<font color=red><i>Doctor Hooter</i></font color=red> <A HREF="http://www.page3.com/" target="_new"><b>(·Y·)</b></A>
A <i><b>REAL</i></b> Czech Budweiser.

Erm. yea, I'll be here. I'm a looser as well! Beer soothes it nicely though.
Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!
Too bad Flamethrower isn't here. I just ate 1/3 of a pound of medium cheddar.
And washed it down with a beer. Surprisingly it tastes good.
<font color=red><i>Doctor Hooter</i></font color=red> <A HREF="http://www.page3.com/" target="_new"><b>(·Y·)</b></A>
OMG
It would be something flamthrower would enjoy, no doubt.
Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!
Now I mixed in some Lay's Ruffles potato chips!

It's Friday night.
The stoners next door to me have the music booming and the pot burning.
<font color=red><i>Doctor Hooter</i></font color=red> <A HREF="http://www.page3.com/" target="_new"><b>(·Y·)</b></A>
Somehow I always end up here sometime on the weekends and hardly ever post anything. This weekend however I am going to fulfill the important task of actually finishing Final Fantasy. I just caught up to the point where I quit playing years ago. Sometime in there I will also watch the latest episode of Naruto. Yeah, come the end of football sunday I'll feel like I've accomplished a lot this weekend.
Drank more beer.
Watched a couple movies.
I'm so bored and depressed I don't think a set of hooters would make me smile.
<font color=red><i>Doctor Hooter</i></font color=red> <A HREF="http://www.page3.com/" target="_new"><b>(·Y·)</b></A>
*gasp*
Dr. Hooter expects us to believe that a set of hooters wouldn't cheer him up? Sounds like some kind of malpractice to me.
<font color=blue>War</font color=blue> <font color=orange>Eagle</font color=orange>
Sounds mighty pitiful to me.
My looser weekend is off to a roaring start. I thought it would be sex before breakfast, but NOOOoooooo! Wife's had to go her second job today. Swell! My Boys drank me out of beer last night, so I've got to get out & replace it before I can even start enjoying myself today!
Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!
This is a SLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW weekend, RC we've got to liven this place up, any ideas?
<b><font color=purple>Listing your system specs, will greatly aid us, in being able to help you solve your problem.</font color=purple></b>
No, not really.
It has been pretty dull lately for sure. I've been gaming this morning & popping in & out.
Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!
I had a lady that thought she was really giving me something special, with giving me all her old software since she got a new computer, I ended up throwing it all in the trash, sometimes its hard for people to part with something they paid so much for in the beginning, but today its useless. I kinda felt bad throwing the software in the trash, but she also gave me an old monitor and scanner, that I can give to someone that really needs it, because they're usable. Its a shame all this stuff isn't upgradeable, sometimes I wonder just how much software is in this world, cause you'd be surprised what people start pulling out to give away, when they realize you'll take it, even if it is, for you to make the throw away decision.

Cool Man. I've got a way to go before my next change, dang.
Your right about old stuff. Some people can't part with it. Lady across the street is a good example. Her husband built the house in 49. She's been a widow since I've been here, 10 years. Well, that house is packed full of everything you can imagine. She moved to a new place she had built that is smaller & doesn't know how she's ever going to get rid of the stuff. I told her I'd have the auction people come in & get rid of it all. But she hasn't done that yet. I'm wondering how long things will take or if she'll ever do it. It's been a few months now as it is.
Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!
It's mean.
But she should have fire insurance.
A good fire can substantially reduce a pile of garbage.
LOL about the software. I have given alot of it away.
Hell I even gave away brand new copy of Win2k still sealed in a shrink wrapped box.
I don't know how many copies of WinME and Works I have given away. Lots of games and utility software too.
The last thing I gave away was a 2.53GHz P4, a CD burner, 350W Antec power supply, floppy drive, and someother stuff I can't remember to a co-worker. I figured the guy would pay for some of it. But I got hosed for it.
Right now I have a printer with parrallel cable and a USB scanner that I will probably toss.
Maybe I should give it to the cheap co-worker!
I've also tossed alot of software books too.

I dont give nothing away, thats why i cant hardly get in my little barn building and the garage. Guess i am a tight wad(frugel) another word for cheap.Glad to see there are some others around here thats not in there teens or early twentys, when i joined i was feelin kind of alone donchaknow.Dont know what all these p. and d. are after a sentence, know it means something, just dont know what???---ha ha.

That sucks! Thats the kind of thing that burns my A$$ worse than a 3' flame, do something really nice for someone and you get that kinda crap for your efforts, did the co-worker think you owed them that or something.
Oh Man! You just brought up a memory for me, Last Christmas I built a computer for a female friend of my wife and I, with spare parts left over from computer upgrades, and gifts that people had given me like used monitors, keyboards, and such as that from the work I'd done for them.
I made the mistake of telling her about the computer I'd built for her, mainly because it was going to be a trade in type deal, she brings me her old computer running Win95, and she leaves with a pretty nice, not top of the line but fairly superb compared to what she had, computer running Win98SE.
Then the crap started, I ended up reloading the OP/SYS three times, why I really don't remember, she would bitch and gripe about, well is this legal, or is that legal, talking about Office software, and the OP/SYS that I had put on it, she couldn't have anything illegal, so I ended up giving her my legal copy of Win98SE, and the manual and product key.
She pissed me off so bad, I actually started, everytime she would call and piss me off, I'd downgrade the hardware in the machine, she still walked out of my house with a good machine, but she had robbed me completely, of the joy of giving, which was the reason in the first place, to try and help her out.
Which I will never do for her again, I learned my lesson on her, thats for sure, sometimes it burns me up to think of the appreciative people I could have given it to, but once I'd given her my word on it, I had to follow through. Talk about lessons hard learned and I know you've probably experienced the same things.

My dads like that, he's a genuine Pack Rat, won't give anything away, won't let you use anything he owns, keeps everything in his garage like a shrine or something, can't use the garage cause he can't get in the thing. He's probably going to be the first person in history besides the Pharoahs, thats going to need about 8 gravesites to bury all his junk with him, I can picture the hearse pulling the largest Uhaul trailer they've got now.
Now don't take me wrong, I love my Dad, but he is one of a kind, and he is definitely a Pack Rat

So many times I've had to break off to go to work when everything was getting good here, then when I've got the time to fool around in here, nothings going on!

Son is that you--ha ha. I figure when i pass ill let all the kids fight over it, my way of gettin back at them. The boys will come over and start lookin around, ill tell them its all mine keep your hands off- ha ha-. Just kidding there usually using more of my stuff then i am.Had 3 computors but alas now i only have 2, youngest one has third one.Course he just borrowed it when his blew up, but ill never see it again.Dont mind though they all help me out a lot, all come over and rake leaves and such
The man of steel said that
I don't owe him anything. I have put together three machines for this co-worker. He's using two of them now. One for himself and one for his kids.
I forgot I gave the guy an MSI nVidia GForceTi4400ViVo 128MB card too.
Now I'm kind of pissed.
All the stuff I gave this guy cost me a grand when I bought it new. I'll have to remind him when I see him on Monday.
Helping people with their computers sucks sometimes.

How's this for having nothing to do:
I just spent 5 straight hours programming for kicks.
The one and only "Monstrous BULLgarian!"
Sounds like you've been there too!
<b><font color=purple>Listing your system specs, will greatly aid us, in being able to help you solve your problem.</font color=purple></b>
Are you finished?
<b><font color=purple>Listing your system specs, will greatly aid us, in being able to help you solve your problem.</font color=purple></b>
No, I simply created and debugged the preliminary classes for a few simulations I'll be doing. The real stuff's gonna take many hours of coding (and more debugging...I facking hate debugging cause sometimes u don't realize there's a bug till uve collected all ur data and realized probability for a system has gone over 100%). Bleh.
The one and only "Monstrous BULLgarian!"
Well thats part of the job unfortunantly.
<b><font color=purple>Listing your system specs, will greatly aid us, in being able to help you solve your problem.</font color=purple></b>
yep.
I'm gonna have a fun time programming now cause I just finished benching and lifting some weights and can't get my arms to work well with a keyoabrd. Heheh.
The one and only "Monstrous BULLgarian!"
Knew some of them , ones connected to computors, but not the other ones or links. You have been helpful, thank you.Went to dinner come back and everythings as dead as a doorknob, CPU,O.C.,memory ect.Reminds me of my sex life--ha ha.Got 2 units at home, his and hers(both mine she just dont know it). Playin with them while temps cool so i can crank them up and play with them, had the P4C 2.6 up to 3.2 with memory in sync and low temps.Thought that was pretty good for me anyway.
The man of steel said that
Yea, Ironmike, Guiedo is always lurking about, when he's needed, other than that you just can't find him any where. If you see him & you haven't been looking for him, there could be trouble.
I'm one of the oldsters that hang here as well. So you've got company around here. Your place sounds like mine. Kids over doing stuff in my garage all the time. Course I use the hell out of it myself. Right now doing a lot of sled work getting ready for the season. Yep, love the kids & the grand kids as well out there massing around.

Anybody that even dabbles in computers has been hosed a few times. People are so wired about computers for one thing. My attitude is you get back what you give out, sometimes more than repaid. It doesn't always seem like it, but it does happen by & by.
As an example, last week I installed a LinkSys 802. 11g wireless network with a base, a child pc & a child laptop. It took me not long messing with it & I had it completed. This guy is on of them that has to have the very latest or he's not happy. I've built all of his machines both home & office. So anyway I'm getting ready to leave & he says I've got an old routher that if your interested in it, you can have it to sell or whatever. So he goes & gets it. It's a Linksys BEFW11S4 ver 2 wireless access point router with 4 port switches. It's still in the wrapper with the Best Buy tag on it. It's a "b" is all. To old, my foot. Looked at newegg & there going for $59 right now.
Now that offset what happened when I did a favor for my neighbor late month. Her son owns a bowling alley. Her machine was so old that when they loaded the new version of accounting software (I forget exactly what it was now) it locked her down completely. She couldn't even pay the employees until she got a machine. So I over nighted parts & had a brand new machine for her in 36 hours & cheaper than she'd ever gotten them for. Well on the invoice I had another machines parts listed that came as well. So in my haste I added things up wrong for her & shorted myself about $100 on the parts. I didn't figure it out until after I delivered the other machine & realized that I didn't have enough part money to pay the full bill. Well, I didn't charge her anything to build the machine. So when I took it over they tipped me $35 & said have dinner on us. I wasn't going to say a word about it, because it was my dumb mistake. Then my neighbor stopped me & said they loved the machine & was that enough money they had given me. I laughed & said no, that I had really shorted myself on it, being as how they asked. He got real defensive about it. I said well add up the bill I gave you & you'll see. Trouble with that is they don't know what I put in there. So this week he stops me again & says we added up that bill & it adds up exactly what you added it to. So I said fine. I'm not going to open up the dam case & go over it with a pointer or something to prove they're wrong & owe me money. The way things have turned out, he thinks I'm trying to stick him up or something anyway. Forget that I got them a computer to meet there payroll.
Yep, it just goes to show me what my Dad always said is true. "What you make on the apples, you loose on the grapes". Only, I'm optimistic & I say "What you loose on the grapes, you make back on the apples".

That's the problem across the street, Even though her husband has been dead over 10 years, I'm not really sure of how much longer, it was his stuff, I guess. Beautiful brick ranch, worth at least $250K setting there storing the stuff. One of my other neighbors told me the guy was a genus tinkerer, really. He said that there wasn't anything the guy couldn't do. He's got the entire basement with cupboards all the way around it full of parts & pieces of this & that. He said he messed with electric motors & there's boxes of brushes for them, new motors, old ones, you name it. The garage has been stuffed to the gills since I've been here as well. Don't know what she'll end up doing & neither does she. If she does have a sale, I'm going over to browse & see what all is there for sure.

Getting back to the original thread, my looser weekend is progressing along right on track. My Daughter in law came down with some kind of meningitis & was admitted to the hospital for at least 48 hours on Fri. My son & granddaughter have came for the duration of his wife's stay in the hospital. My other son & grandson are here most of the time anyway, he's divorced & raising his son on his own.
So I decide to cook a big dinner with everyone here & do a super pot roast with potatoes, gravy & the whole bit. That way there's food for whenever anybody is hungry, plus I love roast beef anyway. Well when I get to cooking, which is everyday (I've always done all the cooking here), I drink a few beers. Today I drank quite a few a stuffed myself like a fat rat. Thus ending up here posting, in the middle of the night with heartburn that's about to kill me, not to mention the 3 bathroom trips to unload some of what I did to myself earlier today.
Things aren't looking much brighter for tomorrow either. I put up a 10 gallon crock of sauerkraut that's been fermenting in the basement for 10 weeks tomorrow. Well we're having fresh homemade kraut tomorrow for dinner. Now there's something that will clean you out & in a hurry. Yep, tomorrow evening the whole family will be farting up a storm around here for sure. Just like the Nutty Professor 2. Well, its at least a bright spot to look for this weekend anyway.
Hope your weekend has picked up for ya!
