Hi all,
Current system is Win Xp pro, Athlon Barton xp 3200+ not o'clocked, MSI
Delta NForce2 mobo, 256 bit Ati 9800 pro 128 meg, 350 watt ATX power supply
and 512 megs of Dual channel OCZ pc 3200 ram.
I have been looking at upgrading the video card to either Ati X800 pro or
NVidia 6800gt.
In my area X800's are still up over $500.00 CAD while the 6800gt can be had
for well under $500.00.
Can my system push either of these cards to their potential?
I really only play MS Flight sim 2004. With all graphics maxed out and (AAx4
and ASx8) I can barely sustain 20 fps near busy airports.
Will I see "double" the performance with the X800 pro over the 9800 pro as
stated by Future Shop and Best Buy?
I heard flight sim may run faster on the ATI card but most other recent
games run faster on the NVidia card.
Comments please.
Thanks
Milo

I really dont think your going to see anywhere near the increase thats
been promoted.
Your system would be the limiting factor as well. Save your money and
wait another year, or migrate to an Athlon 64 system then buy the vid
card next year.
